CoastRI stakeholders

Given the scope and breadth of issues facing our coastal systems, the success of CoastRI relies on synthesis and coordination among NCRIS capabilities and close partnerships, collaborations, consultations, and co-design with all relevant stakeholders along the coastal observation value chain including, but not limited to:

  • National, state, and local governments
  • National agencies (e.g. Bureau of Meteorology, Geoscience Australia)
  • Industry (e.g., ports, fisheries, shipping, aquaculture, tourism, renewable energy)
  • Science and research community
  • Non-governmental organizations
  • City planners, financiers, and insurers
  • Emergency services
  • Natural resource and marine park managers
  • First Nations communities
  • Beachside communities and homeowners
  • Beach users

Integration with state agencies, co-design with First Nations Peoples, and the ability to address both national and state-based priorities is fundamental to development of the CoastRI program of work.
